Beautiful Victorian heavily carved bone needle case, circa 1880. The top screws off with no problems and needles can be placed inside. It is in lovely condition with no cracks. The case measures 4 inches in length. Sometimes these were made by sailors while on whaling ships and brought back for their sweethearts or moms.
